Ben Stokes’ efforts to save a certain Six have gone viral© Twitter
One of the best all-rounders in the game, Ben Stokes is undeniably a name that needs no introduction. Whether batting, bowling or fielding, there is arguably no better player in world cricket with better all-around ability. In the 2nd T20I against Australia in Canberra, Stokes put on an amazing field performance on the boundary rope and set Twitter ablaze with reactions.
Stokes didn’t have the best outing with the racquet as he was sacked for just 7 runs from 11 balls. He’s still coming into the T20 zone after not playing a shortest format match for months prior to the start of this series. But on the field, Stokes remains as sharp as ever.
The incident happened in the 12th over of the game when Mitchell Marsh knocked Sam Curran to the ground. It looked like a safe six in the long off, but Stokes’ acrobatics turned the maximum into just 2 runs. The all-rounder produced a diving effort while pushing the ball back into the ground from outside the perimeter.

Whether it was the spectators in the stadium or the fans on social media, people couldn’t believe what Stokes had accomplished on the ground.
Stokes also proved quite handy with the ball, conceding just 10 runs in 2 overs while also selecting an important wicket from Mitchell Marsh.
Match-wise, England won their second straight match, sealing the fate of the series. Dawid Malan was England’s top batter with 82 carries from 49 balls. Sam Curran was the bowlers’ choice, claiming 3 wickets for 25 carries.
