A recent episode of Bigg Boss 16 featured actor Shalin Bhanot denying domestic violence allegations from his ex-wife, actress Dalljiet Kaur, claiming they are “best friends.” His conversation with fellow Bigg Boss Tina Dutta put him on Twitter’s trending list on Thursday. Now Dalljiet has slammed Shalin for his comments about their relationship. Dalljiet Kaur, who met Shalin while filming the soap opera Kulvaddhu, married him in 2009. However, in 2015, she accused Shalin Bhanot of domestic violence and filed for divorce. They are now co-parents to their son Jaydon.
Shalin Bhanot was recently confronted on an episode of Tina Dutta about his marriage to Dalljiet Kaur. They discussed the issues surrounding the actor at Bigg Boss’s home, when he said, “If something happens, it’s always the boy’s fault.” To which Tina responded that while it could be the case in many situations, she wasn’t sure what happened between him and Dalljiet. Tina then asked Shalin, “Was it an abusive relationship? Because that’s what I heard.”
The actor claimed that he and Dalljiet are like “best friends” now, adding, “Let’s not talk about things … because I really don’t want to. But it will be funny when I tell you. They’ll say, “What, really? For real?’ and you’ll ask me, ‘Why don’t I talk about it?’ Because I don’t talk about it.”
Responding to Shalin Bhanot’s “best friends” comment, Dalljiet Kaur wrote in a strongly worded tweet Thursday morning: “No I’m not your best friend Shalin. Meeting once a month or every two months for the sake of my child is not considered friendship.”
She added: “I wish you the best of luck in your love life but please leave me out of your fictions and stories. And you call it funny? For real? Tina, no awkward feelings for you.”
No, I’m not your best friend Shalin. Meeting once a month or two for the sake of my child is not considered friendship. I wish you luck in your love life, but please leave me out of your fictions and stories. And you call it funny? For real? Tina not heavy feelings for you.

Back in 2016, Dalljiet Kaur, who is also a former Bigg Boss contestant, opened up about her allegedly abusive relationship with Shalin Bhanot. In an interview with Time of India, she said that she will never reconcile with Shalin. “None of that will happen. I am in a very peaceful space. If not happy or satisfied. No question, it was a tough phase. I am no longer vengeful or afraid. I’m done with this phase. I have no regrets or resentments. If Shalin wants to coexist, I’m fine with that,” she said.
Shalin Bhanot and Dalljiet Kaur separated in 2015 and filed for divorce by mutual consent the next year.
