Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Ramiz Raja revealed how he planned Rohit Sharma’s wicket with Babar Azam ahead of last year’s T20 World Cup in Dubai.
“Babar Azam was here with the chief selector before he left for the World Cup and I asked him what your plans are against India,” Ramiz Raja said on a BBC podcast.
“I can now tell you how to get rid of Rohit Sharma and Babar was intrigued.”
“I said let Shaheen Afridi bowl at 100 mph, get a short-legged man. Just bowl this inswinging Yorker at 100 mph and don’t give it a single and keep it on strike. You’re going to get him out,” Ramiz recalled.
Rohit Sharma was caught in front of the middle stump and dismissed with a golden duck. Pakistan managed to end their winning streak against India in the ICC World Cup events by winning the match by ten wickets.
With less than two weeks to go, the arch-rivals will meet again at Melbourne Cricket Ground on October 23 in this year’s T20 World Cup.
