‘It’s embarrassing’: Former Pak players lash out at Babar & Co after Zimbabwe beat Pakistan at T20 World Cup

Zimbabwe stunned Pakistan with a run in a thrilling T20 World Cup match on Thursday.

Zimbabwe defended a modest 131 and limited Pakistan to 129/8 to cause one of the biggest upsets of the tournament.

Pakistani-born all-rounder Sikandar Raza turned the game upside down in the middle overs with numbers 3 to 25 from his four overs, including wickets from Shan Masood (44), Shadab Khan (17) and Haider Ali. Right pacesetter Brad Evans returned with numbers of 2/25 while Blessing Muzarabani (1/18) and Luke Jongwe (1/10) also took wickets to help their side to an incredible win.

It was Pakistan’s second loss in as many games after losing by four wickets to arch-rivals India in another thrilling game.

As expected, the result didn’t sit well with former Pakistani greats like ex-skipper Wasim Akram and legendary fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar. While Akram expressed shock, Akhtar criticized management’s decisions.

Meanwhile, former Pakistan pacesetter Mohammad Amir attacked the PCB chairman and chief selector, demanding her ouster.

Here’s a look at some of the reactions from the social media world –

Pakistan’s next game is on October 30 against the Netherlands.
