filmmakers Karan Johar says goodbye to the social media platform Twitter. Karan tweeted his final departure from the digital platform on Monday, but didn’t give a specific reason for it. His tweet read: “Just making room for more positive energies and this is the first step in that direction. Bye Twitter!”

As soon as Karan Johar shared the post, people reacted to his decision, with one of them writing, “Please stay Karan.” Another mentioned, “Focus on your sanity and Brahmastra Part 2. Send positivity.” Still another person commented: “Positive energy and peace are much more important than any SM platform. Cheers KJ have a good time.”

During the current season of Koffee With Karan, the filmmaker has spoken extensively about how to deal with trolling and dealing with hate on social media. In a previous interview with Bollywood Hungama, the filmmaker admitted he was upset that some people in the industry wanted Brahmastra to fail.

“While I have no problem with everyone’s opinion, sometimes I feel sad because we have some people in the industry who work for the industry and have been in the industry for years. You can be critical, but being negative isn’t pretty. Sometimes some people shift that from critical to negative. Sometimes I feel like we’re all part of the same industry, so don’t you want this movie to work? People within the industry who also call themselves the media celebrate the ruin of a film. I think that’s never a good thing,” the director said, without naming names.

On the work front, Karan recently wrapped the seventh season of his popular chat show Koffee with Karan, which has been graced by some top Bollywood stars like Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Akshay Kumar. He is currently looking forward to the release of his directorial film, Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which is being touted as a family entertainer. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi and Jaya Bachchan in key roles.
