Mulayam Singh remains critical and is receiving life-saving medication to maintain vital functions, Gurugram Hospital says

Mulayam Singh Yadav, founder of Samajwadi Party and former Prime Minister of Uttar Pradesh, remains in critical condition, Gurugram-based Medanta Hospital said in a medical bulletin released on Saturday. He is admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

In a health report, the hospital said Mulayam Singh is being given life-saving drugs to maintain his vital functions. “He is being treated in intensive care by a comprehensive team of specialists,” read the bulletin shared by the Samajwadi party on Twitter.

The 82-year-old leader was hospitalized on Sunday. He has been in treatment in Medanta since August 22nd. He was also admitted to the facility in July.

He was in the hospital’s intensive care unit (CCU) until Monday, but was transferred to the intensive care unit on October 4.

On Friday, Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh visited the hospital and said: “I have visited Medanta Hospital in Gurugram and inquired about the health and well-being of former Prime Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Mulayam Singh Yadav. I pray to God he recovers soon.”

Earlier, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar visited the hospital where he met the son of Mulayam Singh Yadav and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Akhilesh Yadav who was also present there.

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spoke to Akhilesh Yadav to inquire about his father’s health after he was admitted to the CCU on Monday. According to sources, Prime Minister Modi had assured Akhilesh Yadav that he would provide any possible help and support in dealing with the SP patriarch.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) President Jayant Singh Chaudhary had also taken to Twitter to express their concerns about Mulayam Singh Yadav’s deteriorating health and prayed for his speedy recovery.

The Samajwadi Party has urged its workers not to rush to Gurugram Hospital.
