Amitabh Bachchan, one of the country’s most popular actors, celebrates his 80th birthday today and to mark the special occasion, members of the film fraternity (including veterans and newcomers) shared special posts for the legend. Karan Johar’s late father, Yash Johar, also made several films with Amitabh Bachchan. KJo also worked with the actor. Karan Johar beautifully curated a set of words to wish Big B on his special day. He began the note by saying, “Amitabh Bachchan is not just an institution, a legend, a master class in acting… He’s a feeling! A feeling that takes us back to the first time we whistled and clapped at a superstar entry, applauded a punchline, danced on the islands of a movie theater…”

Karan Johar who directed the films Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehnawith Big B, adding in his note, “A sentiment that has trained our minds as to what a hero in cinema is and must always be… A sentiment that defines cinematic memories that are forever etched in our minds… Me.” feel blessed to have my name as a director in his extensive and stunning filmography…blessed to have grown up before him and even at the age of 5 to have felt the thud of his fame as he walked into a room.

He signed the note with these words: “There will be artists and megastars and celluloid masters in Indian cinema, but there will never be another AMITABH BACHCHAN… Happy birthday, Amit uncle… This decade, like any other, will be yours. “

Karan Johar is the son of the late filmmaker Yash Johar, who founded Dharma Productions in 1976. Yash Johar financially supported Amitabh Bachchan’s cult film Agneepath. Amitabh Bachchan also starred in Dharma Productions’ very first film – Dostana, also with Shatrughan Sinha. Karan Johar and Abhishek-Shweta are childhood friends. Karan Johar has also collaborated with other members of the Bachchan family. KJo collaborated with Abhishek Bachchan’s wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and with Abhishek in it Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.

The filmmaker has also collaborated with Jaya Bachchan in the icon Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. He’s shooting another movie with Jaya Bachchan in it – Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaanistarring Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh.
