Sri Lankan players concede silly fall after major confusion between three players at T20 World Cup vs Namibia watch video

The Sri Lankan cricket team suffered a shock in their opening match of the 2022 T20 World Cup against Namibia, losing the competition by a whopping 55 runs. The Lankers were surprised in the game by Namibia, who were better in all departments of the game. While the result surprised many fans, Sri Lanka looked nothing like themselves and didn’t live up to the title of Asian Champions. An incident from the game sums up the same thing.

A total of 8 teams participate in the first round of the game, of which up to four would qualify for the Super 12 stage. Despite being one of the favorites to advance and reigning Asia Cup champions, Sri Lanka were beaten by Minnows Namibia in Sunday’s opening game.

During the field, Sri Lanka conceded a horrible crash that shows their lack of focus on the game. Not even a single run was available, but the Namibian batters managed to add 1 run to their total as a complete bonus. Here is the video of the incident:

It was the 9th over of the game when the incident happened. Wicket-keeper Kusal Mendis threw the ball unnecessarily, leaving two fielders stunned and allowing the Namibian batters to take a single one.

Namibia seemed keen to put a big sum on the board during the innings. Jan Frylinck was the highest-scoring batsman for Namibia, hitting 44 carries from 28 balls. Even Loftie-Eaton, Stephan Baard and Gerhard Erasmus also produced handy shots to take the team’s score to 163/7.

In response, Sri Lanka could only score 108 runs, resulting in a 55-run loss.

Namibia’s skipper Erasmus said about the victory: “An incredible trip, last year was a special experience for us. We started with a great win but there is still a lot to do during this tournament. It was a historic day for us “The opening day was very special but we want to go from here and qualify for the Super 12 stage. We also understand the bigger picture. It’s thanks to Pierre (de Bruyn) how he coached this team one that is a winning culture and one that sticks together With limited resources I don’t think there is anyone who could lead such a tight ship.

The African side would be determined to maintain this momentum, at least until then. the Super 12 phase of the tournament.
