“Thoda Butterfly Hai, Excitement Bhi Bahut Hai”: Suryakumar Yadav Ready for T20 World Cup Challenge

There is no doubt that Suryakumar Yadav is India’s most bankable T20 match winner. There’s also no more comforting sight than Suryakumar Yadav bursting out to bat in a T20 game. In the upcoming T20 World Cup, India’s chances of winning would depend on its performance.

Team India was off to a flying start in Perth and has begun the final preparations for the world tournament.

India’s trusted T20I master Suryakumar Yadav shares the experience of India’s first training session in Australia ahead of the T20 World Cup.

โ€œI was really looking forward to coming here and taking part in the first training session. Walk around the floor, take a walk and feel what it’s like. The first net session was really amazing, I just wanted to see the pace of the wicket and the bounces,” he said in a video recently posted by BCCI on Twitter.

In preparation, the 32-year-old said there was a bit of nervousness but he was following his process.

Thoda butterfly hai, excitement bhi bahut hai (There’s both excitement and butterflies in my stomach. But at the same time, it’s important to adapt quickly and follow your own process and routine, which is most important,” he said.

Exactly two weeks from now, India play Pakistan to kick off their World Cup campaign at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday 23 October.

Surya, who has been on red-hot form in the T20Is for India, also talks about his preparation for the T20 World Cup.

“In Australia, bounce, pace and ground dimension are very important in preparing your game plan and I look at all of those aspects,” he said.

Unlike his teammate Yuzvendra Chahal, who said Saturday it was freezing in Australia, Surya likes the Australian weather.

“It’s very nice during the day. There’s a bit of chilly air. But overall the weather is the same as in India,โ€ he said.
